· 2 min read · Aaganyan Hardwares

Need a door closer in Madurai? Aaganyan Hardwares at 97C/2 Kamarajar Salai, Munichalai supplies hydraulic door closers for homes, offices and shops, including Godrej, and helps you choose the right size for your door.

Types of door closers

  • Overhead hydraulic closers: the most common type, fitted at the top of wooden and metal doors.
  • Concealed closers: hidden inside the door or frame for a clean look.
  • Floor springs: fitted in the floor under heavy glass doors in shops and offices.
  • With or without hold-open: hold-open arms keep the door open until you push it shut.

Choose by door weight and width

Door closers are sized by the weight and width of the door, often shown as EN sizes on the brand chart. Heavier and wider doors need a stronger size. Bring your door width and approximate thickness or weight and we will check the brand chart with you.

Wooden, glass and aluminium doors

  • Wooden doors: overhead hydraulic closers are the usual choice.
  • Glass doors: frameless glass doors normally use floor springs with patch fittings.
  • Aluminium doors: check the frame profile so the closer can be fixed securely.

Adjusting a door closer

Most hydraulic closers have two valves: one sets the closing speed and the other sets the latch speed in the last few centimetres. If the door slams, slow the latch speed a little. If the closer leaks oil, it usually needs replacing.

Also needed

Pair your closer with a door stopper or holder so the door does not hit the wall. Browse door closers, door stoppers, our door lock supplier page, glass door fittings and how a door closer works.

Frequently asked questions

Which door closer is right for a main wooden door?

Choose by door weight and width using the brand's size chart; heavy main doors need a higher size. Share your door size and we will check it.

Why does my door closer slam?

Usually the latch speed valve needs adjusting, or the closer is leaking oil and needs replacing.

What is the price of a door closer?

It depends on brand, size and type. Call or WhatsApp +91 99521 98214 for the current price of the models in stock.
